    Monkalur help

I purchased an assortment of Monkalurs (pricey little buggers) and want to see if these things work the way the Morehead boys talk about. I'm still shaking my head on this goofy looking contraption-- but will give it an honest try with the gaffers in pretty good.
My questions are: should I run multiple monks or just 1 in the spread? I don't want to totally screw up a dink spread. Where in the spread do you recommend. Or should I just keep the monk ready and wait until we get into a pack of gaffers before setting it out?

    Glenn,
I have seen Marty run one only, left flat in a dink & witch spread. Stiff rigged on piano wire, sometimes with a strip bait. No bites on a slow (20 bites or so) mahi day. Nice looking in the water. Smokes and zig zags about 2 feet on either side. Marty said the face hole needs drilling out.
Brian said the monkalure is a wahoo killer

You're killing me Bert--- it's bad enough I'm considering pulling a piece of plastic w/o meat--- but a Bar?--- I would have a coronary right then and there

GW- do you think putting anything out in a hot mahi bite is a true test? You know they eat anything when on the chew. I think an average to slow day is the best test for a new addition to a spread. Move it around a bit to see where it is most productive for ya.
