Well I should have posted this a few days ago but best laid plans and all...![]()
Friday the 21st I took Alex (unoyankeefan which he really is a yankee fan as I had to look at a "Yankees" hat all day) and Mike (Mikelpl) on a Trout trip. First stop as usual was to the Shrimp hole for bait and as life would have it...wrong tide but we made bait anyway after a few throws of the net and then to the points. Did I tell you the tide was wrong? After no bites at the first 2 points I moved to another and found the first keeper of the day...nice "Black Drum" and a small Croaker. From there we moved to a creek mouth where we found a couple of under sized Trout and another Croaker or 2. Fishing around the many river islands without much luck except for a Flounder that Alex caught it was sloooooooow in my book. I talked to all the Shrimpers in the river but they were not much help either but I did score a dozen crabs for my Mom to have for dinner. With time running out I moved to another creek channel and found a couple of nice Trout a Red Drum for Alex to have his first inshore slam
and Mike, not to be out done scored a nice "Ribbon fish" on a "Mirror Lour" for the "longest fish of the day.
All in all it was a fun day with Alex and Mike even though the fishing was slow. Next time guys!
