I have been suffering from them for 20 years, i take fioricet which is prescription migraine medication...when i get one i get a cool wash cloth and place it over my eyes and get into a dark quiet room and stay as motionless as possible...since the fioricet have barbituates in them...found that out when i failed a pre employment drug test because i spelled it wrong lol.....any way they make me drowsy and after i wake up i am good to go 9 times out of 10, once or twice a year i get one that puts me down for a few days.

Bottom line Im sick of getting them. My dr said 21 years ago I would grow out of them. Yea right. I get them on a near daily basis. Some are way worse than others. The one I have it brutal.

When i get them i am useless, i cant even hold my head up straight....every heart beat is an adventure in pain, i would rather go to the dentist and have them drill without any numbing than get another bad one.

******** is what puts mine down (hospital)

But, I was on vacation in Maine a couple of years ago and had a terrible one and didn't want to go to the hosipital. Get in the tub, lay on your back and run the hottest water you can stand. Let the water come up and cover everything but your nose and mouth, make sure its over your eyes. Rest your head on a washcloth or towel. Just lay there and breath out of your nose, deep inhale. It worked for me and if you try it, hopes it works for you. Good luck.

I had them for years with no relief--then I found Imitrex and at the first sign of a migraine, I'd pop one and, voila, no migraine!!! Ask your doctor for it...unless there's a medical reason for you not to take it.

I just suffer through it. I've never found anythign that helps. first I get the waivy lines and about a half hour later it's pain x10. Mine usually last a day or so. All I've found to do is the dark quiet room thing and try to fall asleep.
