MHC Sat report
We fished the 940-800 area off Mhc on sat. dink fishing with circles to do a little honing for the upcoming tournaments. T o say the least TIDE lots of it 82.5-84 deg water and 3.5-4 kts of tide. Lines in 8:50 after leaving at 6:30 from the basin. About 3 min into the day a small blue marlin crashed the right dredge then Stu picked him off with a tyrnos and circle rig. Get everything cleared but the bridge pole a few jumps and bye bye he's gone. Couple of hours later see a tailing sailfish make a turn on him and he slides in on the port dredge no dice on getting him to take a bait though. Next few hours we catch 2 gaffers and 2 slingers we threw back kept only the gaffers. Picked up and ran down to the 600 line around 3:00 put back out and after about 10 min white marlin on the port dredge Derek picks him off tyrnos/ circle rig feeds him comes tight about 150 yds out keeps running, well to say the least another rubber lip gone again. Things were starting to get frustrating these 2 guys are world class hookers/anglers and they were scratching their heads. Another hour we catch and release 2 more slingers. Then finally a sailfish pops up on the port dredge Stu grabs the left short cranks it in right to the dredge and gets set freespool clicker off pointed at the clip then boom a little redemption time maybe? After the fish picks it up takes it then drops it Stu grabs the left long takes a few turns then he comes back on it well after the mother of all drop backs we are 1 for 3 a couple of minutes later for the day. That sure was looking better than 0 for 2. So we ended up 0-1 BM, 0-1 WM, 1-1 Sailfish saw another sail and 6 mahi's. A great day of fishing even if we didn't get them all thanks Derek and Stuart enjoyed it guys we'll get'em this coming weekend. Oh yeah Mcginty thanks for the ladder man i owe you.

John, sounds like a awesome day of fishing to me. You are seeing the bill's and that is the important part. I don't think there is anyone who can get em all every time John.
Pretty work on your Sailfish dude!
BTW...you boat is beautiful. I love the teak covering boards too. They are gorgeous.
See ya soon

Glad to hear you got into them. Based on my luck, that was a great day! I hope to be out there this coming weekend, if the kid refinishing my #*$^#&@ cockpit bulkhead will get the (#*^$& job done.
Hope to meet you this weekend.
