MHC report 8/9/08

[Drifter]

Went a little south of the rock on Saturday, starting at 20 fathoms. Trolled offshore to 100+ fathoms, but nothing happening. Headed towards the Big Rock and shallower water and found a little activity in 30 fathoms at midday.

Results were a barracuda (released), a bonito (released), a blackfin tuna (released), and a wahoo (18#). Missed another 'hoo that hit an artificial lure without getting hooked.

Lines in at 7:30 am. First bite was at 11:55 am. Yes, it was slow...

i think those three sail flags stood for the judges score on ralph's full gainer into the creek that morning with the shorepower cord in hand....splash!

hell yes it was slow, but still better than sitting at the house.....

man o man - - sure hate I missed that!!!!! Even if it had been video'd I seriously doubt Ralph would let it get out.

if Ralph went in, it woulda been about as big a splash as I woulda made - so much for a no wake zone!!!!


I saw they had those flags flying but did not get to talk to them before they left for Pirates Cove. I would bet good money they were a ways up they beach!

Talked with Ralph fri evening he was offshore of the BR when he caught 1 and the other 2 were inshore of the BR 30 fathoms had 1 wahoo and a skipjack. I did hear they turned Ralph down for the olympics for high diving due to bathing suit requirments.

Definantly been there bucket in one hand brush and hose in the other off balance on the side of the sheer you can guess the rest from here.

I did it one night walking to the boat - had a clothes bag on either shoulder, Just walked off the dock (sober) the bags didn't get wet...- Folks nearby said it sounded like a whale breaching
