    MHC Dockage Help

Hey guys. Looking for a little help finding a slip in MHC for the winter. Planned on staying at Town Creek but dropped the ball on confirming until today and they're full. MHCYB is full as well. We're planning on leaving next Thursday morning (Thanksgiving) and arriving in MHC on Friday afternoon. Probably looking to stay until around April. Boat is a 50' Viking with a 17' beam and needs 50 amp service. Any ideas or leads would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Thanks for the help!

Thanks for the replies guys. Now for a few more questions... I found availability at the following marinas:

    MHCYB
    Beaufort Town Dock
    Old Town Yacht Club

Having never been in town, I've got no idea on the amenities of any of the places. If you were us, and coming down to fish where would you choose? Looking for thoughts on access, bridges, fuel, floating/fixed docks, security, parking, proximity to town/bars/restaurants etc. I did hear that Old Town has some current issues and when I spoke to them they did say that the current is tough on the floating docks but there's none on the fixed docks. Not saying I've got a problem with the current but it's something to consider. Hopefully I'll confirm somewhere tomorrow and we'll be in town next weekend weather permitting. It would be great to meet some of you guys for drinks during the season.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

I have stayed at the yacht basin the past 2 winters. Marina and staff are top notch. You can walk to Raps (bar and grill) and any of the MHC waterfront restaurants. The marina has laundry, showers, and WIFI.

I will be there again this year.

I'd opt for the yacht basin over the town docks, I keep my boat at the yacht basin and it is a nice place. I don't know much about the yacht club, but I did hear that the current is a real PITA if you get a slip in the wrong area (which is most likely what is left). The town docks can rip a pretty good current, too. The yacht basin has floating docks, well protected, no current at the docks, etc.

I'm on D dock, hope to meet you this season.

MCYB is the best of those options - but I think they are full for the season. Worth a call though.

Old Town and Beaufort water front are both gonna have a pretty good current - got friends at both places and some days it can be "fun" getting in and out of there.

Town creek marina is where I'm at - it is a great facility, especially during tuna season - not sure but they may be full. Again, worth a call

    good luck

    MHCYB it is!

Confirmed reservations at MHCYB today. We'll be there until April/May. Hope to get into town next Friday afternoon weather permitting. Dropped of the 80s & 130s with Basil today for fresh JB spectra & topshots. Hopefully we'll get to use 'em...

Thanks again for all the recommendations guys. Stop by & have a drink if you're around the dock. Boat name is NYSE-LY DONE.
