MHC 7/21

[Ponce]

Fished yesterday with Caleb from here, a buddy of mine from work and his son. Broke the inlet about 0500 greated with flat seas. We ran out about 30 miles and set the trolling spread in 15 fathoms, no grass and a few flyers. We trolled out to about 45 miles and about 25 fathoms.

Managed 5 Mahi, 1 was a slinger the rest were nice gaffers, funny last week every fish was a slinger. We lost a few and like all good fish stories the 2 biggest didn't make it to the box.

We started bottom fishing our way in and picked up some triggers, BSB, and a nice Gag oh and of course the guys bait fishing caught plenty of sharks.

I have some line or know problems I need to figure out, I left about $65 worth of jigs on the bottom from having break offs that should not have happened. I had something like this happen in the winter and thought I had it figured out, but I guess not.

Smooth ride back to shore, overall great day on the water.

On a side note this was my first time fishing with Caleb and would recommend taking him if you have a spot to fill. He was a pleasure to have on board and he knows his stuff.

Jeff glad to hear you were able to get out there and catch a few. I guess this means the misses is doing well after her procedure? I think it's cool you can post up a "would anyone like to go fishing" and you meet someone new and have a great time fishing. Sportfishermen.com rocks. Pretty sure I'll be out in Oct. for wahoo maybe we can hook up.

Todd ... I agree about this site. It is amazing. I have, on more than one occasion, been going to a place where I knew nobody and ended up jumping in on a trip because of this site.

Glad you had a nice day I got some other reports from yesterday and it seemed like the fishing was pretty good and the bite went'OFF up at hatteras with some 35-40 bills being caught mostly sails I also talked to a customer that fished up in the 750-850 and had a steller day.....

sounds like the fishing is in MHC is still going strong....I wouldn't know i Have been too busy trying to get work dun!!

She's slowly getting better, still kind of laid up. She was feeling sorry for me and told me to go. It was my birthday and wanted me to go have some fun with the boys. Our 2 girls have been a big help and took very good care of her while I was of playing.
