Headed out early on Sunday hoping to find fishing like we found last weekend. Picked up a nice weedline with some decent rafts and flying fish in about 28 fathoms - had a small mahi hit but missed it, then picked up a small one... Hoping for a bit bigger class of fish, we pushed off a bit - had a couple small fish come unpinned, so we pushed off a bit further.

by that time the whole fleet had joined us - lots of scattered grass and flyers, but nothing out to 150 fathoms and the grass thinned. We pushed back in to 100 fathoms and had a big mako pile on - it hit 3 different baits - all from the air - quite exciting - finally got a hook in it, and cleared lines and settled in for a battle. With flurocarbon leaders, we really didn't expect to land it, but it stayed on fighting deep for 10 minutes before finally spitting the hook.

kept working the area, but it seemed that very few boats were catching much. As the day went on, we worked inshore a bit and the weed was forming up - we managed a couple more hookups and put another decent mahi in the boat.

Conditions were gorgeous, and had a great ride back home - overall very slow fishing, but a beautiful day on the water.
