I think we all got a surprise gift this weekend with the forcasted offshore weather report so after thinking I was done with fishing for the year we loaded up the truck Saturday at midnight and pointed it east for another try at the wahoos. Broke the inlet at 4:30 and headed to our normal spots to the south that have been productive the few months. Great ride to the fishing grounds and got to witness another beautiful sunrise. Somehow I never get tired of witnessing that on the ride out.
First fish of the day came an hour into the troll on the planer rod, unfortunately it was of the wrong species and we released an AJ to fight another day. Another hour passes when the wwb screams of a good fish. After clearing lines and plenty of give and take I sank the gaff into this nice fish Thom's personal best wahoo 63 LBS
A few more bite offs and a stinky is all the rest of the day produced...slow day of fishing but a great day on the water with good friends is hard to beat, especially in November
