Headed out at 0500 to calm seas ran out at 30 mph. First lines in the water at 0645 in 25 fathoms temp 78. Trolled until 1200. 3 Gaffers, 3 short strikes, and a boken wire leader on what I think was a very nice Wahoo. Funny thing is that it was a new #9 piano wire leader, so I don't know if it got a kink going out or was wrapped by the fish. It was broke at mid leader. Anyway those are the breaks of the game.
Then on to bottom fishing we went to the area we have caught Scamp and Red Grouper before and last week I caught a big Trigger there. We had a guest that has not done much offshore fishing so we had him put on a rig with squid and some slightly smaller hooks. Ended up with 5 5-7 lbs Triggers, 1 Red Hind. I did manage another big Trigger on a jig. On the last stop to jig AJ's and maybe AP's we could not get anything to bite.
Beautiful day on the water, with good guys and some meat to bring home. If there was any down side once again the Wahoo alluded us once again.
Hopefully I have pics to follow, they are from the other guy's cameras.
The first is Mitch with his first Dolphin caught, notice he looks a little down
The Second is Doug with his Red Hind
The Third is the one Trigger I caught on a jig, (Eatern Tackle Flat Side Pot Roast come through again). All the Triggers were that size or bigger.
