I would have to guess that the Merry Marlin crew would have to be one of the fittest crews on the site. You all would have to be with all of that working out that goes on in that boat. Whole lotta pullin. Pretty work once again fellas. Congratulations.

No one better to welcome a fishing foreigner to America than a large donkey
No words can describe the pain associated with simply knowing that you have one on the other end of your line! Excellent report, pictures and carnage in the Merry Marlin tradition.
Kill the donkeys!

I always find it interesting how some folks hate these dear amberjacks... (I even told Jacky not to choose "Amberjunky" for his nickname on SFC...)
We are quite fortunate to have them around!!!! In Sénégal I had over a 100 friends or family members that caught their first sailfish and that was on 12 or 16lbs. Very rarely did we break one off even with inexperienced anglers..
Reef donkeys are a different story. Even the best fisherman without the right tackle on a wreck will loose the fish hooked right at the boat if not using the right tackle....
White marlin or sailfish might be a spectacular gamefish but a good ole AJ like this one knocks them out!!!

For those who wonder why AJs get put on board ask these commercial fellas... They came right up next to us and showed us how it's done not even putting a rig down for grouper!
GBFT rod, 200 lbs line and less than a minute for for bringing up the biggest ones in the boat without an effort... If I ever live at the coast that type of boat would be my choice for a new career!!

Is there much commercial value in the AJ's?
