    Merry Marlin MLK weekend report

With the Stripers going on fire off OI, I've been wanting to catch one badly off Cape Lookout... Saturday was beautiful and I managed to convince Jacky that we needed to at least try!!! Patrick refused to go prefering to chase ducks....
We found plenty of bait, I'd say mountains of baits, tons of ganets not knowing how to swallow another pogie but no sign of a single bass with stripes!
Ran 6 rods for over 6 hours without a bite...
BUT we did catch two firsts on the boat!

Anyway either there are no stripers around our area or we don't have a clue of what we're doing!

Sunday, the boys were not going to sit around, so we headed out late giving the wind some time to settle. We were hoping to get a load of beeliners but the water was kind of cold and they just didn't bite.
We pushed further offshore and let loose on some triggers and Jacks...

    Marc hates Almacos!

and much prefers bringing up beeliners....

Snappers are getting thicker taking tiny baits for triggers. All swam back down nicely after proper venting.

Before leaving the boys got a workout on some Jacks always swimming among a healthy populations of sharks...

Here's a little video of life on the MM and you can smile at the boys jigging with a 50 to fight them out of the gunnel!

Another good sunset downeast but please someone let us know when you catch a striper around Cape Lookout!!!! I've gotta proove those boyz wrong...

All is good in the world again now that we got a fresh Merry Marlin fishing report.
An excellent installment I might add.
There are now a bunch of men (3 young and one not so young) on the boat. No boys that I can see.
Let me know when you have room for an old man!

Nice report Jacques. you must have been really dragging the bottom to get a starfish and a sand dollar. I think the starfish was undersize but since it was injured in the fight I can understand not releasing it to grow the arm back.

You guys are certainly living La dolche vita......Love the MM videos and reports!......you now you your baits were in the striper zone when you are dredging up sand dollars and star fish......us up in south Jesey.....we know were in the zone when we are ctching 7-10 lb flounder on stretch 30"s.....but we have to let those go.....I guess our big late season flunder are like your red snapper......aside from that you know you have done caught a mess of fish when you have a bunch of straaping young lads fihting fish from the gunnel.......I can see the pain on Jackies face....no mas lol.

Awesome report Jacques! I love the long video. The boys seem to be working like a well-oiled machine!

I was in your neck of the woods today meeting with Mr. Coffee... a mutual friend I understand :~)

I was hoping to stop by the shop but I ran out of time. Lets get together soon! Whether it be for lunch or for a trip off-shore.... would love to see you guys!
