just a curious note on here, both dorado were caught using the same color and style combo. Did the chartreuse squid+hoo caught anything?

Don't see a pink outrider or tracker there, so perhaps the easier action and less water fuss from the squid in front works better in some cases?!?!

or is it straight up color fault ?! looks like a sea witch for the male dorado?

these jigging pics are killing me ... I cant wait to try it out
    Babalaza,

Those two dolphins happen to hit the two pink squid skirts but I don't believe that mahi's worry about color or style much!
If something goes by they'll eat and the bailers took everything else out there...
It's just that in Africa we only used skip baits and for me it was always any color as long as it's pink!!! Thoses squids are the perfect hood for protection and covering up wire on a bait.
For tunas in rough water, yes we'd rather have the bait with a heavier head with probably a chin weight to help it swim just under the surface and not wash out as quickly.

We might not be able to target the Hogs from my house, but we've got a good shot at the pomano's up there. That has some appeal for me. Did you notice Steve's Ayasugi got chewed on like a piece of two day old Wrigleys.

PS. You better eat your wheaties if your going on Friday. I'm wondering if I will even be able to Sea Trial the Grady for the guy in Taylors creek?

    Thumbs up

Another wonderful report that makes me jealous. All sorts of critters showed up again for the MM crew. The jumbo beeliners are pretty but the Trumpet fish is fantastic. Nevermind the Groupers, Wahoos, Mahis, Pinkies, Jumbo cudas, and freshly sawed of neeters. Great writeup on what I am certain was an even better weekend with the crew.

Thanks for the fantastic report & pictures MM. Light tackle (stand up) "mix it up" fishing is the best our coast can offer. Your willingness to do the prep and be ready for anything is the key to your success.
Marc is quickly becoming a very good fisherman.
With all the action you had, I imagine that the boys forced you to stay in the pilot house all day, didn't they?
I think you may be due for another "angling" trip down this way. What say you?
