    Merry Marlin 5-9-10 fishing report

Friday we had the priviledge of riding downeast with the Boss as we had high hopes of getting her on some fish for mothers day. Jacky was playing in his regional tennis tournament where he won his 4 matches so he showed up in a good mood saturday evening.
Saturday was a blow out. We tried the cobia thing but with mom onboard we didn't rough it in! Blues, spanish and dogfish were the only thing we could find!

Sunday morning as it was still blowing Mom decided that she'd leave for home and pick up our daughter staying with friend not to miss softball!

We headed to the eastside and trolled a while up the beach in search of some brown fish.

Spanish blues and bonitas were around but we had other fish in mind!!! Did not spot a single cobia in 7 miles of beach so headed offshore in search of Groupa... We found plenty of big flyers but all our stops were only gag nurseries... We loaded on seabass instead.

Any flat line was promptly picked up by one of these that have moved inshore...

Having to get back home early we came back in to look for cobia. Sure enough found them.

Two ended up being over 50 and I had the priviledge of bringing in the last one of the day that was 61" and 3 lbs short of the 100 mark...

It was a lot of fun sight casting to them. Hopefully they'll stick around a little while...
This week we'll be trying new recipes!

I should have known. As I started reading this report I thought at last the mighty MM crew came up short and are human after all. But alas as the story unfolded and the pictures got towards the bottom of the thread the typical MM carnage came into view. Great boatload of Cobia Jacques.
