Merry Marlin 06-22 fishing report
Got to go and pick up my parents who spent the week downeast with the boys and thought we'd give it a shot yesterday before coming back to the Piedmont.
I was very jealous but quite proud that Jacky and Patrick took their Grandparents out twice last week coming back with limits of gags and some other nice fish. Does that mean I'll be out of the picture soon!!!! Anyway pretty work boys...
It feels good going out with no balyhoo, just a couple slabs of pogies caught the day before by the baitboys, no outriggers, just 6 rods 5 for the bottom one for freeline.

Getting up when the sun is up and leisurely taking off at 8.00.
We have the son of a friend visiting the U.S. for the first time
and we got to introduce him to his first AJ by 9.00...
He huffed and puffed but kept with it and got his first AJ
For someone who usually fishes for boston mackerel this was something new!!!

The boyz took us to the first spot, Patrick betting that on the first drop he'd have a gag... Sure enough he won, it was short but he put Guillaume on his first gag on the second drop...

The first year we fished we may have caught 5 gags, the second year we did a little better this year we're finally starting to figure it out!
They came up nicely, my Mom and Dad needing a little help to pluck'em off the bottom...

Did a little exploration and spots out of the blue produced better sized ones...

Once in a while the donkey would find the carrot first... The rod was handed to the guy who likes to stand on the transom.

No way Grandma could handle the donkey by herself the younger generation was there to help out....

The triggers and bass weren't big but were good enough for some sandwiches!

Anyway, a fun day on the water, swam at the jetty and were home by 3.00. Mission accomplished for some fun fishing for my parents although my Dad got some pretty badly bruised ribs, work of an AJ... but he didn't let go of the rod!

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
Totally awesome. 3 Generations and a fine mess of fish.
It certainly looks like you have been able to provide your parents with one heck of a visit.

Another great report from the MM crew! For some reason I don't think it takes you long to figure out any species of fish.
Like Lee said...a floating net is a great start to any day---not to mention a box full of gags that ate one as their last meal!

Crab mustard is good
Great job MM crew. Looks like alot of fun on the water and a box full of fish to go with it.

"Spots out of the blue" means big trouble for the fishes. There is no cure for the "exploring" bug Jacques. Stop before it's too late!
Congratulations on another 3 generation, Merry Marlin adventure. Outstanding fishing!

IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE MM GENES AND THE BISCOTO--SLIP' GENES "MIXED" SOMEWHERE DOWN THE FAMILY TREE?
THE SHAD IN BOW PHOTO IS LIVING ROOM WALL MATERIAL ....OUTSTANDING TO SAY THE LEAST!

That is outstanding that you are able too enjoy 3 generations of doing what you love to do, no matter what it is.
Another great report and pictures.

Glad your parents got out a bunch while they were here! Am I right to assume that Jackie ran the Parker to the fishing grounds while you were away? I know that he is ready and obviously very capable.
Thanks for another great report! Cant wait to get out there with you again soon!
