With Spring Break around the boys had high hopes of going offshore for some good pelagic action...
The report fridays weren't too promising and I managed to convince them not to go on the troll even though Wilmington was getting some good action. Fishing with 3 teenage boys isn't always easy if you're not going to catch!!!!
Left around 8.00 and we decided to find some new spots.
Patrick got a nice 22" flounder as we got lots of small BSB's. Each drift quickly ended as the sharpnose sharks found us and we pushed out a little further. Properly released a few "closed Fish" and ran a few more miles to a wreck.
There the action was quick and that's all it took to get good humor and smiles on the boat! The water was cool enough that no AJ's were there and Good size Beeliners and bass came up. Patrick played with the sabiki and albies. They battled with big sharks imagining that they were Big Wilmington Cobias!!!!
With a limit of beeliners and close to finishing off the BSB's we decided to take off. The anchor had slipped and was well wedged...... She'll make a happy diver soon!
Sweet ride home and the boys didn't fight + they did the spring yard work so I was happy with the day! No big fish but plenty to grill this week, my new favorite the small rock bass. They won't be going overboard anymore!

Spring time flowers and black bass kissing beeliners to the tunes of David (Byrne or Bowie?)
Getting sentimental old friend! And it's not a bad thing at all!
