Good luck to you and your crew John. Bottom fishing with O-Sea-D and my 12 year old tomorrow. I will be inshore of you, but within radio range, I imagine.

SAILFISH REPORT 11/17
Left the house at 4 am. as Matt said 28 deg. pulled out of the slip a little before 5 am. headin of to the south east at 20 kts. in a slick calm black ocean and pretty darn chilly i might add. Well after setting out on the 138 line in 50 fathoms we saw several schools of skipjacks and small blackfins working in the 75.5 deg water. No current what a nice change less than 1/2 a knot. It took us several hours of prospecting and a wee blackfin before it happened 102 fathoms 75.8 deg water i get a nibble on the 50 on the bridge and holler down to Matt to fire a dink back, after a few seconds we are hooked up sailfish but now we have another prospect on the right long now Derek goes into action and he is tight. Double Header well short lived both fish run off together and Dereks fish pulls off after taking a few 100 yds of line. After a few minutes we get Matts fish up and get the leader about the time Derek gets ready to turn it loose we got another one trying to eat the ass end out of the green squid chain dangling from the port rigger so MikeLPL pitches a dink over to it as i speed ahead and he comes tight fish jumping about between the short and long rigger raising hell we get ready to go after this one but she throws the hook after a wild display of head shaking 20 yds off the stern. So we get regrouped dredges and teasers deployed baits back out and make another pass. I see something come up from the dredge to the hawaiin eye chain and holler down to get a bait to him Derek picks this one off and as the sail is heading straight away another oner comes in behind the right long but no dice so we settle in on the one we got hooked and again after a few minutes turn # 2 out of 4 loose. Took us another hour and a half to find another bite but it was a good one right long again fish was hot Matt feed him and it was on this fish put on an air show the Blue Angels would have been proud of. After 3 or 4 minutes we turned # 3 loose. Put back out and fished for another 15 minutes but no more bites so we called it a day and headed for the barn saw 6 fish had 5 bites and caught 3 well worth the trip 3/5 good day in my book out of Wrightsville any day. Thanks for all the help guys what a FIRST CLASS CREW MIKE LPL, JMS MATT, DEREK AND FRANK. Enjoyed it greatly guys let's do it again soon.
