When clearing lines after a hook up, why do some mates go berserk when clearing lines. Yelling this and yelling that. Confusion ensues and tension is at max levels. Barta comes to mind, as he goes ape shit after a hook up. Yet I've seen him masterfully untangle a four rod tuna hook up with the greatest of ease. Also, wouldn't premature line clearing prohibit the possibility of catching a 2nd or 3rd fish in some cases. I've even seen mates pull teasers totally out of the water rather than bringing them up even or a little ahead of the transom for added action in the water to keep possible remaining unhooked fish alert to the boat. Does this game of fishing really need to be all out mayhem after a fish is hooked? Excitement not withstanding.
