    Mako,

You mentioned that they use the slug gos for bluefin up north. It obviously works with the stripers down south. Anyone think Mako could put one on a planer or downrigger and catch a giant?! I think you should try! A giant on a homemade lure....!?!!

Sorry if I offended. I did not mean to.

Water is getting cold around here dude. The bluefish are few and far between right now and that's why I went with these baits, that and the fact that they might even resemble sand eels better than the first dredge I show in this thread (even though that one was deadly last trip) but I think the new one will be even better!! I understand that it could get pricey replacing the slugs but right now I am not worried about it since almost 99.9% of the fish were are catching trolling these is Stripers. As far as all the hooks becoming an issue, it is really not. If you use short shots of heavy mono (short enough so that they can't reach the other baits) you are in good shape!

Yeah I started a thread in the NE forum and those guys helped me out with the Bluefin set-up. I pulled one down deep and one from the rigger last trip without a bite. But it probably didn't work because we didn't find the fish on that last trip .
