Sit down Shut up And fish
? for Marty and allyou outher MHC guys
i will be coming down to hatteras in early october and was wondering how long it would take to get down to MHC from there? figure one day me and the mrs might just ride on down and stop in to say hey to some of you guys. what would be the best way to go also. heck if we time is right and someone has an opening or a spot i might send the mrs on a shopping/sightseeing deal while i get to fish.

I think Admin is going to let me have this space
Hatteras to MHC
If you drive like most people it's a 4.5 hour drive. If you drive like me it's about 4.
Made it from Manteo to MHC in a hair under three hours a few weeks ago.
64 to 17 to 70.

OR YOU CAN FERRY IT FROM HATT' TO OCRACOKE TO CEDAR ISLAND AND THEN DRIVE TO MHC
LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU!
I'LL BE EATING WAHOO NUGGETS BY THEN

You have your ideology and I have mine!
Matey,
If you want to score points with the ms then take the ferry and overnight on Ocracoke and than ferry to cedar island the next day. The crossing from Hatteras is short and the crossing to Cedar island is a hair over two hours. From the ferry terminal to Morehead is like and hour and you you can pick up a new Jarret Bay on the way!

Sit down Shut up And fish
thanks for the suggestions so far guys. we will be staying right outside hatteras and have been to ocracoke before. big tourist trap to me. never been any further south than ocracoke though. do i need reservations for the longer ferry ride? if we come i am thinking we can make it to MHC in a day trip and maybe stay over there instead and go back the next day.
Marty, i hope to get to taste them nuggets with you.
Capt Jay, would you say the inland way is the fastest way to go? thinking the mrs will enjoy the scenic way better and i will have my surf rack on w/ all th epoles so if i see a fishy spot i might be able to stop and cast.
