I'm a carrier of fish handlers disease. I got it several years ago from weeks of slaughter striped bass fishing. We were doing 2 trips per day and catching 100-150 bass per trip. They were feeding in the late summer of clams in warm water. They were such nasty fish covered with sores and bleeding skin.......and i had to grab and unhook everyone. After a week in the hospital on IV antibiotics the doctors told me what was going on and that this could pop back up anytime i handle too many fish or go on hardcore offshore adventures. So now i have to be extra careful anytime i'm fishing. Anyone who fishes for a living (or fishes more than the average weekend warrior) should be fully aware of fish handler's disease and know to be extr careful not to catch it.
With the lack of fish this season dont think we have to fear the staff.![]()
