Low Falls Limits

I had to work today, but BeagleMan, RoundHead, and George went fishing out of Low Falls and managed to have a three man limit of Bream plus a few cats. The bream are starting to bed in the river. Crickets were the bait of choice today with catawaba worms being second. There was a lot of boat traffic today. They said that there were lots of people down there camping along the river banks, I hope they make it through the storm.

(This pic is of 60 of the bream, George had taken his 30 home by the time I got home with the camera.)

Beaglewoman,

What is the reason for the crawfish migration I hear about?
Nice on the bremps. It has been a while since I fished for bream / redbreasts.

Trying to learn about them crawdads now. Got some info on building trap. I have been hearing lots of people catching and seeing crawdads everywhere. Those I found were in the river living in a root system of a downed tree. I could see them from the boat. I watched them move in and around the roots. I could watch them attack my bait, and just snatch them into the boat. Doing it with the trap I think i will set it and give it a few hours and then check. Instructions say if the crawdads are there I will have some in the trap. Using oily fish as the bait seems to be popular.

Yes they are!

I have a jar of the dills that I am planning on taking on our fishing trip tomorow. It is in the fridge chilling now. They should make a good snack on a HOT and SUNNY summer day. Just for a little spice we have added a jalapino pepper to some jars. Hid it in the middle of the pickles so we wont know which type we have till we open it up!.

(Tomorrow night I am going to put up some sweet pickle relish. It will be my first try at it. I need to have some to add to my chicken salad, egg salad, potato salad, etc, etc.)

ha ha ha. RoundHead is one of our hunt/fish buds. He and his wife Tina will be mentioned in some of my post from time to time. Guess I need to get him signed up here on this forum. He and Tina have a pack of them screaming beagles here from the beaglefarm. Here is an old pic of him i posted on here of him. I will get pics with no hat next time I see him.
