Loss of a Great American and North Carolinian

A man who fought for the rights of North Carolina citizens for 20 years passed on the 4th of July this year. Out spoken and often ridiculed Sen Jesse Helms was a Tarheel through and through. Not taking crap from anyone or orginization he kept things rolling for us here in North Cackalacky. A true politician who was here to serve the citizens and a damn fine job he did. My father knew him and met or talked with him on occasion he will deeply be missed by many. July 4, 2008 Jesse Helms Independance Day.

I'm sure the man had his good side, but there was definately a side to him that had no business in politics. Not gonna talk bad about a man who's passed on, but he definately was no saint.
