Ark oviuosly you have never had the experience of watching a live in the wild 160-170 class buck. It's majistic! If it don't get your blood boiling you hunt for the wrong reasons. The way they carry their self is much different than the small one you are used to seeing. I'm not talking about watching Realtree TV either I mean live and in person. Sure taking does is a necessary evil, but if the rack doesn't matter why take it? leave it for someone that will appresiate it. Mature bucks are weary and smart that add to the the game of chase and when you do get close enough to take one (not 400 yds with a gun) you will fell an adrenalion rush like no other.
Buckeye - You are correct. I have heard the stories from Marty, Dove Hunt, Ernie, dropback and Raymond but I have never seen one when I was in a stand. I would probably understand more if I had seen one. Some day it will happen. Like I said I am not much of a hunter. I have only been a handful of times and only when invited by knowledgable hunters that don't mind me tagging along. It is not a passion like fishing is to me. For me hunting is more a great way to spend a day with friends.
That's why I love the Ark-- Respect for all, knows where he is (cept on the docks after a few more than a few), and no BS on what is and isn't a priority to hm personally. Rock on dude!!!
Now teach us that Feel you have for the Whities--- and the somviche recipe
When it comes to hanging with friend and laughing at each other there is nothing like Turkey hunting. I remember far better the hunts I have screwed up that those I have taken a large Tom. Maybe some day We will hook up and I might show you my way(not the right way but my way) I hooked Marty in one season and he still refuses to do it my way! I have theatened to put him threw one week of serious Deer Boot Camp, but he can't be serious for one week straight. Marty has the Rut secured for life, but other than maybe we could get together, Oh yea there's that other thing to WORK
When it comes to hunting Bucks it's the chase not the kill for me. Big boys don't make many mistakes if you get one chance to take one it may be the only one youever get. Multiply that with bow hunting and the odds are against you. So when you even get close it a moral victory.Lets see if I get this right. If you wnt to see some nice deer click this link http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/...cs_05/p001.htm
