    LEADERING A 35# TUNA -VIDEO

THIS FOOTAGE IS FROM LAST SPRING.....HOLWACHAGOT IS IN THE CHAIR ON DA 50...GLENN ON THE BACK OF CHAIR....NOTHING REALLY SPECIAL HERE BUT MAYBE THIS WILL HELP THOSE WITH WIND-ONS

MANY PEOPLE ASK ME "HOW TO LEADER A FISH"....TUFF QUESTION HERE! .....TIME ON THE WATER AND REPETITION.....SOMETIMES YA JUST GOTTA GO FOR IT...KNOW WHEN TO HOLD 'EM....KNOW WHEN TO FOLD 'EM

THIS CLIP IS A SIMPLE DEMO OF HOW I HAND OVER HAND A 40FT TOPSHOT OF ANDE 100LB LEADER.....THEN ...WITH TIMING....I TAKE 3 QUICK WRAPS ON DA LEADER AND THEN STICK HIM......REMEMBER, ....THIS IS JUST MY WAY AND NOT THE ONLY WAY

BUT ....WATCH AS GEOFF ( IN CHAIR) IMMEDIATELY PUTS HIS ROD IN THE CHAIR ROD HOLDER AND BACKS THE DRAG DOWN ONCE FISH IS ON THE GUNNEL.....WORLD CLASS MOVE IN MY OPINION...AND HE QUICKLY JUMPS UP TO TAKE THE HOOK FROM THE TUNERS MOUTH

    PRETTY PRETTY WORK THERE DUDE

    NEXT QUESTION:

WHO IS HOLDING THE VIDEO CAMERA TO MY LEFT? ...LOU? ...WHO IS IT GLENN? .I DO NOT KNOW!!! SORRY....BUT I WILL TAKE THE FOOTAGE FROM WHOEVER YOU ARE AND ADD IT TO THIS CLIP AS AN INSTRUCTIONAL VID

Nice video BOX!! Where should the rod tip be? If it were any lower, wouldn't it be in your way more? I know for crank and wait when reeling in a fish, you don't want the rod tip too high. Correct? Alot of people get into trouble trying to horse a fish to the transom. I believe this leads to working a larger than wanted hole in the fish's mouth and then consequently losing the hookset on the downstroke.

    Your thoughts please.....

    Hope all is well.

I ALWAYS ASK THE ANGLER TO KEEP ROD TIP HIGH....AS LONG AS THE REEL SEAT AREA IS "POINTED UPWARD" ....THAT IS CONSIDERED HIGH....NATURALLY THE ROD TIP WILL BEND DOWN....

THE ROD TIP IN THE "HIGH' POSITION WILL ALLOW THE WIREMAN TO HANDLE THE LEADER EASY

Marty- Cowboy was to your left filming and I'm the one filming this clip here.

I guess the footage that you want is cowboys. I can recheck my footage and give it to you when I see you in Cape May next week.

Hey Box we downloaded all my camera footage onto whatever it was you downloaded it too before we left, it had some footage included of my boy at a wrestling tournament and my daughters first deer kill when we hunted with matey1....you may have to watch for the wrestling and the deer carnage the fishing footage is on beyond that somewhere, I never got a copy of the disc before we left and I am not sure if I still have it on Mini DV or not, have to have a look.

Marty if you can find the footage from that trip a great add-on would be how to handle a break-off at the rod tip...Thats when Box takes a wrap and the swivel is about the only thing keeps him from loosing the grip and then he hand over hands 40 feet and the angler jumps out of the chair and gaffs the fish. memorable moment to say the least, I remember even the beast gave 2 thumbs up on that performance
