Kings, Spanish & the new SeaBiscuit

Had the Hunts ( 3 generations worth ) on the boat with the boys and we were not doing a stream trip...just Kings and Spanish near shore.
Now I've been bouncing back and forth of the Roanoke River to Wrightsville Beach due to cancellations and lack of sense so after a 18 hour day on Friday starting @ 3AM, I drove the 4 hours back to Wrightsville Beach for this fishing trip...to say I was a little tired is an under statement.
Any way we left the dock @ 7am in not the nicest weather I've fished in. # miles off I see birds and slow the boat down to see what's up. Yep the early full moon of May has the Spanish here once again. We mess around with them for a while and I move off father to look for the Kings. Warren is changing the spread over from Spanish to kings when the right long screams off but does not look right...lots of white water...did that fish jump? If I was in the stream I'd be thinking Sail but I'm not there and 67 degree not going to happen. As it gets closer I can see its a big Bluefish...not seen them this big this close in, in many years. We work the area for a while longer but no more love was to be found here. Move out farther to the 7 mile range to some of my hard bottom #'s and the planer goes off and pops up empty, then the left long pop and were on with the first King of the day...ah life is good. Shortly after that the planer is hit again...OldSalty and Mr. Drone is doing there job, but lady luck was not on our side this time as I was having to run into a head sea and lost the fish at the boat. As the morning wore on we picked away at the kings...all were on the OldSalty and Mr. Drone, 5 made it in the boat for the ride home but only 3 made it on the dock.
Around noon the Coast Guard and issued a severe weather warning for high winds 30+KTS and I though it best to work our way back closer to the hill.
As I got near the three mile mark the Spanish were playing again and I see what looked like a new Contender and what do you know it is the SeaBiscuit looking to harass some flounder. We chat on the radio and I catch some more Spanish around him. As he moves to another location he comes by our boat and I snap a couple of pictures of the new SeaBiscuit to share with you guys.
It was a little bumpy in the morning but got nicer in the afternoon and I was glad that we dodged the weather that had been called for.
As we were unloading the fish out of the fish box, something happened and only 3 made it on the dock...but we do call it fishing don't we. LOL Had a great time with the Hunts. See you all next year.

The new Sea Biscuit! Nice looking ride Nick! Glad to know it's a fishie boat also!

I'll be off the board till next weekend as I won't have excess to internet till I get back from the Roanoke River. See you guys then. Capt. Lee

Nice report Capt. Lee, but I have to ask, Are the bottom 2 fish in the line up ballyhoo? If so, did you use ballyhoo to catch ballyhoo? I could not resist

Nice Spanish Captain Lee. What happened to the rest? The new Biscuit looks like she just came out of the oven.
