The NC state requires lifejackets on all kids under 13 except on commerical

What do most of you do when chartering with your kids?

I usually make the charter bring the PFDs with them, I don't have kid's sizes on the boat.
Whenever my son is going on another boat I bring his own life jacket.
No matter what I always have my kids bring their own life jackets. Whether it's a friends boat , party or charter we have our own. You can never be too safe. I know that these life jackets fit them correctly.
we have life jacket for the kids on the boat, i ususally recomend bringing one so they are as comfortable as possible with there own, but we got em.
I just took a charter in Charlotte Harbor. I took my kids own life jackets with us from Boston. I knew they fit them and I wouldn't have to hear "these are uncomfortable" all day.
Bring your own for the kiddies is the best idea....

question aren't charter boats considered commercial boats? Don't get me wrong I think any should have to wear their life jacket while on the water but I thought a charter boat was considered a commercial boat.
So does that mean all childern under 13 on a charter boat by law have to have life jackets on when the boat is moving unless they are in the cabin?
