Got fish
Jawbreaker MHC 5/31
We left the dock at 4:30 with my usual crew (2) and a newcomer not well versed in offshore anything and headed out runnning 20 knots in less than ideal seas. We had heard reports from the day before of a nice break/fish etc. near the 90 foot drop. Not sure if this was a lie or what, but the water was 68 degrees this day. We continued toward the rock when we saw the holy grail. Damn weed line was miles long and you could see mahi tearing it up all over the place.
We got all the lines in the water and all hell broke loose. For the next 2 hours I didn't even get to drink water. The newbie tried his best, but at times was more of a hindrance that help. After the bite cooled, we had boated 25 mahi (largest 30 pounds, with most 15-20 pounds) and 4 slingers. Bite continued cool and we headed in around 12:00 running 32 knots.
Sorry, but no pics as the action was too crazy with basically 2 people fishing/gaffing, etc.
Editing to add: caught 3 mahi on the planer rod (biggest of the day) and one hit before I could even attach the damn planer. Also, when we left it looked like a parking lot out there.

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
That's a fine way to spend a holiday - nothing quite like a mahi frenzy to bloody your boat and cause chaos.

Sounds like a great day, I hear you about being busy with just 2 of us on my boat I thinkit was 10:30 or so before I could even think about taking a sip of water.
