I was given an incredible striper report from Friday with the playmaker crew, where they limited out within 2 hours with hot baits being Mann Stretch Lures and Umbrella rigs.
With the weather being crappy just about every weekend Sunday was going to be our best shot.
Mako19 and I headed out yesterday afternoon for some inshore trolling. With the early morning blow, we were in no rush to battle mother nature. After setting up the spread it didn’t take long for the first drag to start screaming! We had some monster bluefish (10-12lbers) make meals out of our Mann Stretch 25s and 30s with the most popular color being chartreuse. There was very limited bird play but we were marking a steady amount of bait, with the water temp in the low 60s the blues were everywhere. Megan was our go to angler reeling in most of fish. After a few hours into the trip the umbrella rigs really came through catching two keeper bass 29” and 36”. The ride home was short and sweet as the seas finally calmed down and made for a nice afternoon trip.
Thanks Marty, Thick one day then scarce the next. We had a stiff NE then swung around NW wind which stirred things up I guess, the water warmed up a little too. Probably why the blues were so thick.
