I saw some mates sliding around on the ice at Pirates Cove back in 2002 or 2003 I can't remeber which year. The whole sound from the Causeway north looked like ice packs in the Bearing Sea.

I was surf fishing with my dad at the OBX when the sound was frozen. You could walk out on the ice for several hundred yards from the shore. On the surf side the sand was freezing when the waves receded. It was ridiculous. Of course we werent catching any fish.
