    Insane Awesomeness!

Those are the words I'm going to use to describe Nick(SeaBiscuit) and the day of fishing we had yesterday! I'm not talking about the same kind of awesomeness that you all saw in Squid's post from the 29th but the personal kind of awesomeness.

Yesterday very well could've been one of the most fun and and enjoyable days on the water I've ever had! I learned a ton from a guy that obviously knows his stuff. The tips and education was none stop. From knowledge about area houses and waterways to boating and fishing.

Due to weather and school restriction, we only had a few hours to fish in the middle of the day. We were expecting a bit of a choppy sea but it turned out to be fairly decent once outside the inlet.

We hit our first stop in short order and had a lot of good marks. Make a couple of quick drops with the jig and up come the Sea Bass!! I thought they were a pretty good size at first...evidently..I was wrong. After having a few keepers in the boat, up comes a big ol' boy!! I think it was pretty big anyways! Nick says they get a lot bigger! We ended up adding a a bunch more keepers and a few more big boys! Tried a little for Mr. Gag but didn't have any luck so we moved on to spot #2.

Spot #2 is where I got to catch my first two Gags!! Not gigantic record breakers but a ton of fun to catch anyways! It was great to see how they hit and how to play them to keep them out of the rocks. They're going to be delicious! Had a bunch more bites but no more takers.

With time getting short, Nick decided to head back to an area near the first place and see if we could add a few more BSB to the mix. Drop down the grouper rig to see if Mr Gag was around. Felt a whole bunch of little bites and such. Thought it was more of the Sea Bass. Decided to bring up the line to see if I still had bait and something started tugging on the other end! Cool! Reeled him on up and as he gets to the surface, it's a Flounder!! Never caught one of those before either! It was pretty cool, those are some neat looking fish!! That was only keeper we took from the third stop. We pulled up a few more small BSB and Nick had a few grunts.

Headed to the hill about 3 so I could make it back in time for Chem class.

Thank you again Nick!! That was really awesome!

    Tim

Great report. That is the best thing about this site, the people you meet that you may never have known. I've met more good people on this site than I can count. I learned a ton from the site and by fishing with people I've met here.

Once again great report and it sounds like a sweet day on the water.

Great report Tim and pics. Nothing like learning from one of the best bottom slayers around. Did you mark those secret spots with your handheld GPS in your pocket?

Thankfully, I only have one class at the moment! I don't know that I could handle more than Chem 2 and still have time to fish!

Nope! Nick has me pretty excited about heading out and finding my own spots. We talked about that a fair bit while we were moving. Had a lot of great pointers.
