that is sweet!! i went to rite aid for a few lights last night and when i saw the price i cringed.. but now you put me on a christmas light high!! lol

Awesome man! It's hard to find a lady that can tolerate us fishermen. And just when they think it's over for a few months there is a boat hooked up on the roof! hahaha!!

Thanks guys. It all started about 7 years ago. I put a tree on the roof. Folks thought it was an arrow. They would ask why I put an arrow on the roof and I said to point to the reason for the season.

The next year I put a single fish on the roof. Again questions of why a fish. Jesus's symbol is a fish so the design corresponded to that shape.

Then the next I put a boat with a T top on the roof. It made people laugh and I got joked on, but it was all fun.

The year after that I decided to stick with the fishing theme. I put two white fish a red fish and a blue fish on the roof. It was designed after one of my favorite books. One fish two fish red fish blue fish.

The fourth year I put a boat trolling with a gold fish shaped fish on the line.

Year five I skipped because I was out of town and when I got back I just thought it was too late in the year to put them up. I had people calling and neighbors saying'" no lights?, what's up with that? I told people at work they needed to drive by and see my fishing neighbors creation." I had no idea the effect my designs were having on the folks around me and in the neighborhood.

Year six was last year and I did a boat with an anchor off the bow and a fish below the boat.

Ya'll saw the video of this year's creation. It is getting harder to come up with new ideas. If I had some more skills I could get into timed lights and have some animation. Like maybe having the marlin's head go left and right and have the rod bend in response to the marlin head, but that may be a little to advanced for me.

I'm glad ya'll approve and glad I got a smile or snicker out of some of ya'll. I thought the title was very appropriate while at the same time a little misleading. BUT, it is a lit up marlin.

Sportfishing - I got all my lights at Wal-mart. They were $2.38 a box.
