POOR OL GEORGTOWN HOYAS HAVE PACKED UP AND GONE HOME....HECK I THINK I SEEN PATRICK EWING STILL OUT THERE!! AIN'T HE ABOUT 50 OR SO????
I HAVE WATCHED THE HOYAS PULL 3 GAMES OUT OF THEIR BUTT AT THE LAST MINUTE THIS YEAR AND ALL BECAUSE THE "OTHER " TEAM JUST SIMPLY QUIT....THE HOYAS DIDN'T REALLY BEAT THEM, THE OTHER TEAM JUST COLLAPSED...........I LITERALLY STORMED OUT OF THE ROOM AFTER EACH ONE!!
BUT NOW ........THIS PAST SUNDAY, ...AND WHILE DRIPPING A QUART OF CHOCOLATE BROWNIE ICE CREAM ON MY SOFA... FOR THE FIRST TIME... IN THE HISTORY OF ME EVER WATCHING COLLEGE BASKETBALL.....A FULL SQUAD OF THE WHITEST OF SNOW WHITE HONKIES ON EARTH BEAT THE GEORGETOWN HOYAS...GEEZUS H THRICE HERE PEOPLE...........HOW IN HELL CAN 5 WHITE BOYS WHO HAVE A COMBINED VERTICAL LEAP OF 7 INCHES AND RUN THE 40 IN 40 FLAT.......EVER BEAT OUT A RUN N GUN GEORGETOWN TEAM? WILL SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS ONE TO ME?DON'T GET ME WRONG HERE ....I WAS PULLING FOR DAVIDSON BACK WHEN LEFTY DRISELL WAS THEIR COACH
I MEAN THE DAVIDSON COLLEGE LEADFOOTS WERE DOWN BY 13 LATE IN IN THE FIRST HALF!!! I THINK THE COAST GUARD SHOULD BE CALLED IN FOR A FULL INVESTIGATION OF THIS ONE!
Marty, I was fortunate enough to be at the game, on the 4th row, and let me tell you bro, it was unbelievable. You talk about a crazy place, when Davidson started coming back, the RBC center was rocking. All the Carolina fans, me included, were cheering Davidson on. I really think the crowd had a huge impact on Davidson's moral, and they certainly never quit. They were actually down by 16 at one time, but being there, when the second half started, and Curry hit a couple of shots, you could see the change of the faces on both teams. Anyway, my first post in a while, but it was nice to see an undersized, less athletic team, win a game from a powerhouse. My reason for it, HEART!!!! They wanted it more the G-Town.
I love to see the underdogs win every year, especially when they play well and take out a big dog like the Hoyas. Don't fool yourself though...they could have never done it without this phenom who carried them on his back and took the game over.
I have said it since the begining of the year, you DO NOT WANT TO PLAY DAVIDSON come tourney time. Why because they play the big boys this year in their non conference sched, UCLA, UNC, NC State and all 3 they should have beat or could have. I am a die hard Carolina fan and of course my school App State (3 time defending National Champs oh and we BEAT MICHIGAN at the BIG HOUSE) but I have loved watching Davidson play all year. They are a GREAT team and Wisconsin under estimates them they will be head back north, so LETS GO HEELS AND WILDCATS!!!
As a side note, App State was turned down by UNC, Florida and Florida State this year in football for their non conf schedule. UNC chose to play McNeese State and Florida State chose to play Western Carolina (no offense BOX) but come on they all said that they did not want to play App State, so what does App State do, shyt if you gonna be a bear be a dayum GRIZZLY let go play the OTHER DEFENDING NATIONAL Champs the Tigers from LSU. that is right at the last minute Texas Tech backed out of a deal with LSU so that left an opening so for the first time CURRENT reigning NATIONAL CHAMPS will meet at the beginnning of the year to play LSU Tigers vs App State Mountaineers in Baton Rouge. Yes the will be ready for us I do not feel we can sneak up like we did with Michigan but hey you got to give us credit we will go play the big boys when the rest want to run and hide from us.
