I'm finally a beach dweller again

After leaving Miami in the very early 80's to join the military, I'm finally back by the saltwater. I've officially given up being an action guy, no more living in a tent in the Sahara, no more rebel groups, no more wondering if this trip outside the wire will be my last, no more insurgents trying their best to blow me up, just no more. I'm done, I quit, I give, I say "uncle."
It was a wild ride!! 22 yrs in Special Operations in the Army, 4 yrs of working in third world dung heaps trying to fix what can't be fixed, no matter how much blood, sweat and tears you put into it. I'm done.
I'm now residing in Carolina Beach, looking out at the water way, wondering why it took so long to get here. My first choice was MHC but the chief of staff out voted me, she put up with my running off to fight other peoples battles for a long time, so I owed her this one big time.
Now I'm happily going and training the USCG guys at the CG Special Mission Training Center at Cp. Lejeune everyday. If I can get them shoot faster and more accurate than anyone they come up against, and increase their chances of surviving a gun fight then I will have done my job.
I'd like to thank everyone on SFC that sent me their prayers, best wishes and support over the last few years. It meant a lot when I was the lone American in some of the places I've been.
And there is no way I can thank my buddy Marty who was always checking to make sure I was in one piece and not asking too many questions about what I was doing or where You're a great man Marty and I thank you.
    Ken

My dad lives right there on the river where snows cut runs into the river. If you ever need a fishing buddy, give me a shout and I hook you two up.

Sea Draggin, sounds like a plan. I'm on the other end of Snows Cut on St. Joseph St. I've got my Hewes at Otter Creek marina for the summer months, so I can hit the water quick.
