There are a lot of great people out here. I have run into many of the not so good but I still have hope. I want to tell you about 1 of my great friends.

It is not his pleasure it is mine. This guy is unbelievable. Stand up member of the local business community and always giving back Won the Toys for Tots Rock fish Tournament today and gave them the winnings check back as a donation. I don't know if I could have done that. I would like to think that I am that kind of man.

Fishing is not about catching fish its about a lifestyle. The way YOU are. I tell my kids as long as we have fun the fish are a bonus. Some guys on here fish for money on the tourney thing, as well as a commercial fisherman, charters and recreational fisherman. Its not how much we make nor how big of fish, its about YOU. YOU are the angler, YOU drove the boat, YOU gaffed it. Its about YOU. Its YOUR passion, it can be whatever YOU want.

Hero is a word far over used. Lucian you are the epitome of the word. Its your picture there in the dictionary. I am proud to be your friend.

I really don't know what to say.

My crew, probably think I'm NUTZ.

Actually, I fish for FUN and rarely fish tournaments, this one was for a GREAT CAUSE. and I had the pleasure of volunteering to take a group of YOUNG MARINES, "TEAM HARD CORPS", our men in uniform out on my boat.

I really didn't know if we could win it, but since we had such a great crew, we would try.

We fished on Sat. from 3 am until 3:30 pm, weighing only 2 medium fish and found out the leader had a fish that weighed in at 56.84 lbs. I told my crew that I'd have to pull a rabbit out of my butt to pull it off at this point, but we were going to try.

We all went home, rested for a little while, then went right back out at 11 pm and fished until 12:15 pm the next day, straight through, we caught 6 very nice fish with one we thought would put us in the top 4. At the scales, we found out we had taken the lead by .04 lbs., with our fish weighing in at 56.88 lbs, our fish made it and it held.

Here are the weights, this was CLOSE:
1st - 56.88 lbs
2rd - 56.84 lbs
3rd - 56.1 lbs.

It doesn't get much closer than that.

I also want to give credit to Capt. Mike Beane (Kapoc) of Blue Dragon Charters, who mated for me and really made my job a lot easier. It really was a TEAM EFFORT and we also got very LUCKY.

Yep Lucian once again I told John if you had won I know he will give it back. Lucian karma you got it pal. The way you networked for our club and donating your boat and time for Catching for Kids and now TFT and countless other things you do. It doesn't surprise me one bit that you and your crew took first place. Really glad our paths have crossed and looking forward to a long friendship. Oh yeah by the way I want that Bisque recipe.
