Team Canada Rocks!
I need some help
Please read this all the way through, you won't be disappointed.
As many of you know we are having a second Father/kid tournament this April 4th and 5th in Morehead City, North Carolina. Last year was a tremendous success and we had a grand time.
It seems that whenever kids are mentioned the good hearts of the membership here at Sportfishermen.com come out. Well last year we had two extremely generous individuals donate entry fees for two teams that may otherwise not have been able to make it. We had two incredible stories. One of a young man that lost his dad in a speed boat accident on the chesepeake a couple of years ago. I think he ended up catching one of the biggest wahoos of the event. The other person to benefit from the kindness of the board was a young lady who seemed to have run into some "growing up" issues and almost lost all contact with her family. Luckily for her one of her teachers had started an organization by the name of Brown Dog Services. Brown Dog was started with the goal of putting fishing rods in "at risk" kids instead of other harmful things. I spoke to Director Scott Sheetz and asked if he may have a candidate for the spot. Scott told me the wonderful story of Lauren and her dad. Lauren turned her life around by fishing with her dad. It was a great story. Well they joined us for a great weekend and met some phenominal folks at the event.
Well - It has happened again already and I really just can't help but thank the great folks of this board. An anonymous person has contacted me and wishes to donate an entry fee for a team that otherwise may not be able to join us this year. Once again, I can't thank that member enough for the generosity to help others.
Now I need your help. If anyone knows of a deserving kid that would love to spend two days on the ocean with their dad but may not have the means or has any situation that may prevent them from joining us please let us know. You can PM me or email me at bill@squidnation.com or just give me a call 410-726-3582
Here are a couple shots from last year. 1st pic is Lauren and our own Tri-angler who donate her spot.
The other is TJ who's spot was donated last year by an anonymous person.
Thanks
Bill
