    I lost my strip teaser.

I did it again this the fouth one, all were lost different ways, but this hurt it was the megga of all strip teasers (the garage sale) $600 bucks. Saturday was its first and last day fishing, it did its job well it called a blue right in on it, then he just mauled the wombat that was behind it only to spit the hooks. Then the 400# jinkai parted ways at the scupper and my teaser was MIA. So if any of you bottom dropping @39938 at 80fts and catch my teaser please let me know. To make matters worse on Sunday fought a 45# bull all the way to the boat only to have the piano wire break at a kink as we sit there and watch our $4000 prize dead on top of the water, when we finally back down on him he starts to sink. My captain is pissed at me.

For a big dredge, 400# seems a bit light...especially when it is coming into contact with anything abrasive (your scupper). Jinkai is a bit soft anyway. You might think about using at least 600# the next time. And better yet have the first few feet made out of small rope or other more sturdy material. This will help your abrasion problems until the leader gets into the water. Your 400# MIGHT be ok after it enters the water, but if you keep losing these things on the 400 it should tell you something is wrong.

Better luck next time! That HAS to hurt.

I made my own s.teaser a couple yrs. ago. Some of the components I bought already pre-rigged. One of which was Tournament Cable's rigged stainless towing cable. It's coated red and I believe mine is 25' long. Haven't had a problem unless it would be that it's easier to see than mono.
