I Hope They Know What They're Talking About!,
The "cold front" that was supossed to bump Earl off the coast, has been stalled out west for the last 2 day's. I can't figure out what is going to push it offshore as predicted. I hope they're right though. 145 mile an hour wind is just about 100 mph too much! Funny thing about these storm's, you never really know what they're gonna do until it's over. Frank

She's currently rolling now due north at 74.8 degrees longitude. You're at 75.5 or 7/10 of a degree west of that... given your latitude, that would roughly translate to 38-40 miles off it makes no more of a turn.
That gives Hatteras a chance of 87% that it will get at least some tropical strength storm wind in the next 12 hours. 98% over the next 24. Theres a 50/50 shot at 50 wind and a 11% chance that you'll see 64 or better.
Moreheads numbers are as follows.... 83% of some tropical storm force... only 6 % of 50 and 1% of 64+.
Right now as it stands Nantucket Mass stands greatest chance of shit city. With 89 % for tropical, 57% that they see 50, and 28 that they see 64 +...
