Thanks for all the offers guys.... I sure wish I checked this before now. They finally restored power back to the marina at about 11:00...
Jacques the new truck held up pretty good in the snow... I found this morning that the heater will run you out of the truck if you fall asleep with it on full power. And 4 wheel drive definetly works, I'm sure glad it did or I would have been calling AAA to pull me out at 3:00 this morning....
Please forgive my language in this following post as is has been one long shitty day.... Well I honestly can say that today has left me speechless. After power was finally restored to olde town and the roads cleared everything finally seemed to be going good. I go to autozone and get me some new mossy oak floor mats for my new truck. Drive back and everything is good. Later on I decided that a chicken gyro from no name would be great for dinner. Get in my truck cranks right up and I pull out.... Turn on 70 and head to beaufort... Get down about 1/8 of a mile (if that) down the road engine is running smooth transmission shifts perfect. Then it just shuts off. The engine quits about 400 yards before the beaufort drawbridge. WTF!!!!! I coast and pull over... Cut the key off and then back on and try to crank it. It turns the engine over and over and nothing..... GD! I am stuck in the right lane with a dead truck with my hazard lights on. Damn it. Try to crank it again and nothing. I put it in neutral and push the truck into the little side street that cuts over to duke marine lab, now the truck is completely off the road. I try to crank it again.... Nothing. GD I just got this truck the tuesday before last and the SOB broke down on me. The truck is a 05 ford ranger 4.0L with 108,000 miles... Damn it what do I do.... Try to crank it again nothing. So I pop the hood get the mini mag lite out and look under the hood and see if there are any hoses dissconnected or anything like that... Nope nothing that I can see looks great. Slam the hood and try to crank it again... Turns over and over and nothing.... Start looking thru my phone for AAA's number and of course is not there... Ok I am over on a little side street with a new truck that just breaks down a week and a half after i got it and I don't have AAA's number... GD what do I do now. Try to crank the truck down again, for 10 seconds it turns the motor over and nothing. Ok again then bam the engine starts right up. It didn't turn the engine over 3 times and it cranks. I slam it into drive and haul ass down the road turn into olde town almost mowing right over the gate not thinking it was there. Put the code in the gate fly down the street and swing a in a parking spot that is right under a street light. Pop the hood check everything and it all looks good. So I turn the engine off, let it sit off for about 15 seconds and then try to crank it again. It cranks right up.... Turn it off try it agian, bam starts right up again. WTF!!!!! So now it cranks right up while not 2 minutes ago while sitting on the side of the road it wouldn't start for anything! So now I'm here in MHC with a 05 truck I got a week and a half ago that randomly cutts off while riding down the middle of the road, and won't start back up for atleast 5 minutes and I have to drive back to Apex tomorrow. Just great, just great. Can this day honestly get anyworse...
Please don't take offense--I'm just sharing something that happened to me this week.
Earlier this week I had to have the motor replaced in a 9 yr-old car with 110,000 miles on it. I thought, well dam the luck, etc., feeling sorry for myself.
Then I remembered a poster I saw many years ago. It said "I was sad that I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet."
