I AM RETHINKING MY DEEP BAIT COLOR

AFTER READING ONE OF THE STORIES FROM ONE OF THE WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH CROWD GUYS A WHILE BACK .....I STARTED THINKING DEEP...SNIPER DEEP

CRAP!......SORRY MY MIND JUST WENT BLANK ....HELP ME PEOPLE!! WHO IS THE DIVER DOWN THERE IN WB THAT TOLD US ABOUT COLOR PATTERNS AT 90 FEET DOWN???? MATT? TROPHY? BRANDON? ANYONE? HELP PLEASE...

HE STATED THAT GREEN WAS GREEN AT 90' AND RED WASN'T ANYTHING BASICALLY AND SO ON AND SO ON

SO LAST OCTOBER I THOUGHT...LET'S TRY SOMETING DIFFERNET WITH SKIRT COLOR ON THE DEEP BAIT.....FOR YEARS I HAVE RELIED ON PURPLE / SILVER...PURPLE /BLACK OCTO SKIRTS OVER A BALLYHOO....MAYBE RED BLACK......... RELIGIOSLY.

MY GOSH I HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS SUCCOMB TO MISTER HOO'S ATTACK WITH THIS SKIRT COMBO....

BUT IN OCTOBER '07.......I SWITCHED TO A NEON GREEN SKIRT ....WITH ADDED FLASH TENSIL.......BINGO....BINGO BINGO ....AND NOW I THINK THERE IS SOMETHING TO THIS GREEN DOWN DEEP ....

YESTERDAY WAS NO DIFFERENT.......GREEN GOES DOWN...WAHOOS GO IN BOX

LET'S HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS ON YOUR GO TO DEEP BAIT.....

    PICTURES WOULD BE AWESOME .....

Don't forget the pink. I crushed them on it last fall when the black and purple didn't work. Red and pink turn green at 50 ft.

Absorption of light occurs in the water, it filters out the colors progressing through the color spectrum from red to violet. As one dives deeper the natural light will not provide as much color information.

A dive light will allow a closer light source provide the diver with more colors. An underwater flash will help with underwater photography.

Red is the first color to be filtered out. If you bleed underwater it will appear black until illuminated by a nearby dive light when the red color will then be seen.

Bingo, pink for me. Florescent Pink is the heat down deep. In the water, red is the first color to go. Blue, green and Florescent pink are the last. now after saying that res is the last color to go, doesn't that seem contradictory...
For the commercial King Mackerel the pink on the planer is a go to color...never tryed green, but I will now.
Box, are you useing a dark green or more of a chartreuse green???

I am an avid bass fisherman as well as offshore. Something about your post rings a bell for me, but think about this.

Cajun line brand is red and claims to disapear underwater.

Bleeding bait brand type hooks are red and supposedly will catch you more fish.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? Just wondering what you guys think.

    Thumbs up

Oh Yeah brings back memories of science class with the acronym

    ROY G BIV

I'm sure everyone knows this one. But for those of you who don't each letter represents a color and the letters (COLORS) disappear in order as you get deeper from R to V.

I have 2 green matanzas on mono pin rigs, we never pulled them. I guess it's time to send one down on the wire.

Last year the we had great success with the purple skirt and a few others
    thanks Squidnation
