Hudson Canyon Late Report

We left the dock Sunday morning around 1am and headed out to the Hudson Canyon to see if there was any life after the storm. We had the usual cast of characters on the boat along with Hotshot1 and my buddy’s son “Canyon Boy” We got to the canyon around 5am and had lines in for first light.

There were birds and porpoise all over the place, just no tuna for us. It sounded like there were some YFT and LFT picked up overnight but I didn’t hear of anyone setting the world on fire on the troll.

The water temp has dropped quite a bit from last time I was out about 3 weeks ago. The highest temp that we saw was around 71-72 deg.
We started off with a small Skippy that Canyon Boy made short work of. We figured that it was a good start as word had it, there were bigger YFT mixed in with them before the blow…… not so much for us on this trip.

All we were able to muster up were some mahi for the rest of the day.

We had a great time out there with some good friends and managed to put some meat on the table for everyone on board.

There’s always next time.
Below are some pictures from the trip.
