I'm just a weekend angler so I'm neither a charter nor a vendor but I'll give my 2 cents because I do buy products and I do occasionally hire a charter.

Charters. You need to give fishing reports that demonstrate you can go out and catch fish. I really don't care about banner ads, advertising and the like. Many of us read the message boards and are looking for fishing reports. Fishing reports that produce what you are targeting. I've got a couple of friends that are part time charters and they do well when they get charters. But they don't report and they don't often have clients. They say they either don't have time or don't want to brag. I tell them it takes 5 minutes to put a fishing report and post a photo. If I don't ever see a report from you on any of the message boards, I don't care how big your banner ad is, I am not going to hire you when I do decide to charter and I am not going to recommend you to my friends who are looking. Post up your reports....I have to know about you and I have to know you can catch fish if you want my business or my referral. We all understand everyone has slow days but post those up too as it shows you are out there learning from the slow days too. Oh yea, while posting a fishing report, how about a few details that might help us part time anglers out from time to time...don't just put up a photo, that is just advertising in my book, not a fishing report. A report with details gives you credibility in my mind, it demonstrates that you know what you are talking about.

Vendors. Somehow I need to know your product works. And the best way is to show me it works either with pics or your product highlighted in someone else's fishing report. If I read a report that mentions a nice fish caught on a Black Bart Tuna Candy from Alltackle, I just might check that out and pick some up. I also like to see a little how to advice for your product. I think Ancient Mariner does a great job at showing how to run the particular lure with his tips.

To me, that is one of the best responses to this thread. A lot can be said about a person by the way that they post up their reports. I would be more likely to buy a product or hire a charter from a guy who go's out of his way to help someone out, whether it be a way to rig up a new ilander/bally combo or a different technique to fish for a certain species. Thanks to everyone out there, vendors, sponsors, and the people that spend the coin also for their products, as we are a big part of this great site.

THESE BANNERS AND ADS ARE THE ONLY REASON YOU HAVE THIS SITE TO HANG OUT IN SIR....WHO DO YOU THINK PAYS THE ENORMOUS COST OF RUNNING THIS SITE? THERE ARE FULL TIME EMPLOYEES HERE ....WITHOUT BANNERS AND ADS...THERE WOULD BE NO SANDBOX FOR FISH DAD TO THROW SAND IN ....

Box, you asked for opinions....I gave you an opinion. I am not a brain-dead nit-wit who will buy something just because there is a huge flashing ad on the board. I gave you my reasons why I would buy from an SFC vendor....take my advice, don't take my advice, don't really give a rat. The smart, savy vendors understand my point...too bad you don't.

Actually they were Doing the Dew three years before Sun Drop was introduced.

While still incredibly sweet, I don't think Sun Drop is as 'thick' as Mt. Dew.

Still...neither rank very high for my taste.

Everyone has a favorite.
