Question How to rig a teaser

Motivated by the amazing footage of the Yellowbellies crashing the teaser on Box's video from the Run Off, I am looking to put a nice squid teaser chain together with these pretty new SN squids I got from my squidulus package and thought some of the other greenies on here might also want to learn.

So ... to any of you old salts that would like to share .... whats the best way to rig these sexy little slimers into a nice chain for a teaser? What lb. mono? Weights? Colors? How do you stop one squid and go to the next? How do you terminate?

Also... What do you drop back to them? Naked Hoo? A squid with a hook? Plug?

Thanks in advance for your continued generosity!!!

I prefer to rig them inline. Just because of alot days being rough in the spring they don't tangle as much. You want them to be equal distance apart. I like to make mine out of 220 momoi. As far as stopping the squid i like to use the some kind of bead with floss wrapped around the mono instead of a crimp. Feel like the crimp weakens your mono. Most of the time when they are bustin on your teaser it doesn't matter what you drop back! That is just my $.02.

    Chris,

On our smaller boats for YFT, I'd have every teaser armed! An islander with a balyhoo or cedar plug if it's rough. A plain squidilous squid will do also. We usually have a bird in front of the line up too if the fish are deeper.
Yellowbellies won't usually ask questions like a billfish and give you time to send something back. Gotta take the dividend on the spot!!!
If you get covered up you may regret having to pull in those extra teaser lines with only 3 or 4 guys onboard! just another 2 cents....

Like was posted above I like the in line version much more simple in the long run. We use a crimp and bead and keep them equal distance apart. We use 250lb mono for the teaser. WE don;t drop to yellows we usually posiiton a bait or two on either side or about double the distance of the individual squids behind the chain so this bait looks like the weak fish or easy meal. we run 2 sometimes 4 chains of our 25' boat
