I AM CALLING ON ALL TACKLE SHOPS TO WAKE UP...AND TO QUIT PURCHASING THE ANTI-KHRIST SWIVEL......I BET IT IS SAFE TO SAY 49 OUT OF 50 TACKLE SHOPS DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT HERE....AND THAT IS SAD SAD SAD


NO SWIVEL....I REPEAT....NO BALL-BEARING SWIVEL SHOULD BE WITHOUT THE "DOUBLE WELDED RING "..... 'CAUSE THE DOUBLE WELDED RING SWIVEL WILL NOT BIND UP WHEN THE GOING GETS TUFF!

A SINGLE RING BALL-BEARING SWIVEL WILL GET ITSELF IN A BIND....DUE TO WAVE ACTION...FISH ACTION ..EVEN THE DREADED WIND....AND ONCE IT BECOMES UNDER PRESSURE WITH A SLOB FISH AT THE BIZNESS END......THE SWIVEL WILL BREAK ONCE UNDER PRESSURE WHEN IT GETS IN IT'S CANTED POSITION (SEE PICTURE )

BEING LONGTIME SUPPORTER OF SAMPO SWIVELS ....I HAVE PROBABLY PURCHASED 10K OF THEM IN MY TIME ....THE SINGLE RING IS NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED ON A BOAT.

Good post BOX...I completely agree...Double ring is the way to go.

If I might add, I also look for the # of twist on the snap. I prefer a snap that has multiple twist...I've had snaps w/ one or two twist open up on the high speed troll...I have yet to have a multiple twist snap open up on me.
