It's not turtles...it's RATS! I found rat poop on the bricks behind the tomatoes and found where they were CLIMBING THE STALKS to eat my tomatoes and pooping all down the vine and on the leaves!Set 2 traps last night and one of them went off twice---once before I got home from MHC so I reset it, and a second time by this morning. Both shots, however, were whiffs. Set a live animal trap this morning so I should have the ******* by tomorrow and he will get a bullet in his head!

My parents have a heck of a time with turtles at their house since a creek backs up to their land. I've seen many a 'mater eaten by a "skillpot" (that's what we used to call them).
Thanks beaglewoman! Y'all have got it going on as well! I don't know of many mater plants that can compete with the height of these dang things. My folks had some one year that hit the gutters at their house as well but those are the only ones I've seen get that high. Not sure why they've gone so crazy in that corner as last year we couldn't grow a single thing in that spot---everything flooded and died. Guess my plumbing system I installed late winter helped drastically. Be sure to take pictures of the corn! Ours should be ready shortly as well.
