How do you do it???,
Could I get your input on lure's and your spread's? I'm pretty new to this type of fishing. Last year I had guy's on the boat and we all know everyone had their own idea. What I noticed was that most wanted to put my outside rigger bait's too far back for my taste. I've been putting my Islander's on the outside rigger's, Islander Jr's, Sail Lure's and Sea Witch's on my inner rigger's, I put mainly sea witch's on my flat's and larger bait's like Islander's or Green Machine's on my center rigger furthest back. The flat line's have been closest to the boat but just behind the prop wash (where it start's to clear out). The innner rigger will be back enough to where it will skip some, the outer rigger will be back further and it skip's but not nearly as much. I put my center rigger back much further, I'll put a bird or spreader bar back there with the bait. I have caught very little on the center rigger and I know that some folk's do very well with them. I do pull at least 1 and most of the time 2 planer rigged bait's, these are the real performer's. Don't get me wrong we catch fish ,but as you can tell I don't have the confidence in my spread that I should. As in most thing's I think confidence is important. What are your bait choice's, placement and spacing of the spread? Any opinion's or help would be appreciated. Frank,SeaPower
First off frank where are you fishing. I fish out MHC and my spread usually consists of dinks (behind the dredge) or sailure on the flats. On my short riggers there are a iland sea star on the left and on the right a sea witch or Jr. Ilander (short rigger baits are shortly behind the teasers). Long rigger are sea witches or iland trackers. Long shotgun is a blue and white ilander with a horse. The short shotgun is boone bird daisy chain with blue and white sailure or sea star. This my spread for dolphin wahoo and sails. The long shotgun is just in case for a big dolphin or wahoo or sometimes blue seems to inhale it.

hear is the spread that i run most of the time out of ocean isle beach.... it changes from time to time......but for the most part it catches fish..... on the right flat i will change it from a diving plug to a jag or mini jag behind the trolling weight.....
What kind of bar are you running on the center rigger, and how far back? Make sure it is staying on top and not digging in back there. We float all of our bars.
I like as many nakeds as I can get out pending on the conditions. As the conditions get worse I will ad only as much weight as need to keep the baits in the water.
