How to avoid the ABKMT croud

Hey fellas, just have a quick question. I am planning on taking the girlfriend out for the first time on the new boat this weekend out of Morehead. Where and what should we go after seeing how there will be a million boats fishing the tournament this weekend. You think we should stay in close due to the incoming storm and troll clarkspoons for spanish and kings or venture offshore? Keep in mind we are fishing from a 21 cc. Thanks in advance for any foresight. Jay

I WOULD GO TO THE PAMLICO SOUND AND TRY FISHING FOR THE RED DRUMS

THE GO FASTER BOATS .....THEY SEEM TO OWN THE WATER DURING THIS TOURNY....MANY I'VE SEEN BLAST BY IDLING BOATS AT 60 KNTS CLOSE QUARTERS WITH NO SAFETY THOUGHT WHATSOEVER.....SP WATCH YA BACK

ALL PLACES INSHORE WILL BE PRESSURED JAY

FOR AMERICAN MACKS....CLARKSPOON IT DOWN THE BEACH TOWRDS THE SHERATON HOTEL....18-45 FEET OF WATER......THE KING CROWS SHOULD NOT BE HERE

The inlet will be busy beween 0630 till around 0800 depending on how long it takes people to catch bait. The wind will be out of the NE so it will be flat all the way to the shoals. So trolling that way for the spanish should be fun for the ponytail. Even if you wanted to try to catch a king the Dead tree hole shouldn't have to many boats on it, must of the tournament fisherman will be on the eastern side of the cape. If you do try the cigar mionnows I told you about remember to troll as slow as the boat will go and fish with a very loose drag (3lbs) the reason for this is the wire on the live bait rig is very light.

Alright now Razor and BOX shhhhhhhhhhhh, lets not tell everyone now, it is tourney time we need a cpl big ones this weekend LOL Us and The Extreme Measure boat are going after them this weekend and yeppers the east side should be a parking lot!
And BOX u r exactly right on some of the go fast boats, I was looking underneath the bottom of TEAM BERKLEY the other week at the FLW in Southport, all 3 props were out of the water. and they were 20yrds off my stern. But u know what we still finished higher than most of the CORPORATE BOATS!!! Wished someone would give me a corporate boat with unlimited funds, I would respect it and show little more than some these show. Because I love it, not a jobs to me, its fun. Ok little off track. LOL Point is be careful in the early am some of them have NO RESPECT!!! Good luck out there and give me a call on the radio if you need anything, go by dolphinfrenzi

Nah no story box we had 1 bite all day, it was tough fishing that day but 1 bite and 1 in the boat, was small but big enough to weigh and pick up some point in the series. Alot of the big CORPORATE boats went home with goose eggs for the 2nd straight tourney. First tourney in the series was rough, blowing 20+ that morning, I had prefished and caught 2 40s and released them and put a 28.5 in the boat. All would have won, but we could not get out there, just too rough, next tourney playing field was great, we were fishing in the exact spot at the exact time the winner caught their fish, guess she just did not like the flavor we had out but we did get some points and if I can finish the series ahead of alot of the big boys, I am doing it on my own dime and we are coming to Atlantic Beach next weekend to WIN the FLW. we are going to give it 150% We will definately work hard for it I promise you. And looking for sponsors LOL, gets expensive fishing 10-12 tourneys a year!! Thanks for the tought BOX!!!
Just think BOX a few years ago, lol I was little pup needed showing the way!!! Now thanks to the BOX and the BEAST I am fishing 2 tournament series on kingfish trails. THANKS BOX and BEAST!!! for everything

it'll be fine along the beach man. I have a group Saturday and they did not really want to leave sight of land anyways so we are probably just gonna bang along the beach for some spanish and blues. Most of the king crowd will be headed to the east side or stay crowded in the inlet. Just come on out carefully around all the idyots and toss some clark spoons in and let the ponytail have some fun. I'll likely head towards the Cape cause I am willing to bet these folks are gonna want to go swimmin later, but you can do as well headed toward the Sheraton like Box said earlier.

    good luck
