"Hot White" Start of the OI bite Video

Here is a little White action From OI when the bite first started to heat up this year. It was a great day on the water You can here Squid (Bryan) on the radio as well. The outboards did pretty good this day. Cant wait to finish the video from the rest of the day. This was a hot bait and switch day to say the least. There was a lot of action that day!! Got to love days like that. Lots of sails with some whites mixed in. I think one boat had a grand slam that day. We had Sails and one White but couldn't muster up a blue.......Mark

That was a fun fish. We had just switched out the teasers and next thing whitey is slapping that pearl squid all over the place. Mark jerked it away from him and I threw him a dink. After a six count I slid the drag to him and it was a solid set up. Lots of fun there.

Alan we had a great time. Looking forward to getting back out again. The tuna are starting to snap pretty good and I know you will be there. The bill fishing sure was a nice break from meat fishing this year. Nice to hear that TLD scream when those Whites take the dropback....Mark

Thanks for posting that video Mark and bringing back a good memory! The "I think we need to go back to J-hook school" comment at the end by one of the fleet is a great one! I'm still waiting to see the video from our day up there but as soon as I do, I'll post some video of what was going on on our boat as you were wrestling that white. Great job and hope the tuna fish bite for you soon!

Bryan we will be fishing the 10-18 as much as we can. Hopefully we can get three or four days on the water. The catch has been a little of everything right now. YFTs, Blackfins, and a occasional Bigeye and Bluefin. There has been quite a few YFTs
topping 70lbs+. There seems to be a better class of YFTs this year.........Hope to get some great video.. Cant wait to see the video from your boat. I still have some sail footage to get too. Your boat is in the background upper left about a 1/4 way through the video with the charter behind you......Mark
