    HOT HOT HOT 8-05-08

We fished SANTEE COOPER today and it was HOTTER than a FOUR BALLED TOM CAT. Beagleman sweat like a horse! BUT the BITE was HOTTER!!!! We left Low Falls Landing about 1 this afternoon and fished until we ran out of bait at 6. It was just BeagleMan and myself fishing today. The heat must have kept the others home. It was even hot in the shade. We brought home 60 nice bream and shell crackers and about 8 catfish. I found a good use for the white perch. Use them to knock the MAY FLYS out of the trees! We located a good MAY FLY HATCH and fished around it all day. I am scared to even guess at the numbers we caught. We were able to cull out the little fellows and keep some nice ones. We saw one GATOR on out trip today. We suprised it while it was sunning on the bank. Back to the fishing. The fish were biting so good that I could only fish with one pole. The very second that it would hit the bottom, you would have a fish on. It got to where I would have to let the fish steal my bait to have time to drink water. As far as numbers this was the best BITE we have been on all year. 2 cups RED WORMS, 2 CUPS BLUE BAIT, 100 CRICKETS, and the remainder of my MEAL WORMS. Also a CAT FISH broke my NEW ROD. I had to go back to my old one. I hope Wal-Mart will take it back. This was its fourth trip, only had it 3 weeks.

    That brings back memories...

of when I was ten or so fishing on my grandparents pier on Ross Barnett reservoir in Ms. Every year the mayflies would be so thick for a couple of days they were like a cloud and the fish were bitin' nails for those two days. Thanks for the flashback!

Another fine report Beagle woman. Thank you.
    No pictures of flying perch?
You don't like to eat white perch? When we get them in the salt water they are very good to eat. Are the fresh water ones not as good?

They are fantastic and I wondered about that too...

sac au lait, white perch, crappie, black crappie, and white crappie are all the same thing, delicious Sac au lait is the cajun term meaning "bag of milk"
