    HOOKS PREFERENCE WITH DA HOO...

SINCE THE OTHER THREAD GOT HI JACKED I AM STARTING A NEW ONE ON A NEW DAY FOR ALL THE BALLYHOO BOYZ!!

    MARTY,

THIS IS YOUR SANCTUARY HERE. LOL HAHA NO ONE WILL TALK SPANKIN SMACK IN THIS THREAD. LOL

BUT WHAT IS YOUR HOOK PREFERENCE.

since it is a new day i want to ask this question... lol hahaha

anyone feel free to answer but this is just my opinion and question here.

i have been using a ton of hooks while fishing with hoos.. i am not big on the circles as i have not been doing a ton of practice so i am talking J hooks here boys..

i have found that the new owner long shank hooks have been the best hooks i have ever used for rigging ballyhoo and hooking fish..

they have helD up great and i dont find a problem... i am anti stainless hooks as i think they are softer than the tin/cadium hooks out there now..

my normal hook for a ballyhoo is either the owner long shank or the mustad 3407s2x in 6/0-7/0 for smalls and pee wees.. 7/0 for mediums and 8/0 9/0 for large/ 9/0 10/0 for selectS and 10/0, 11/0 for horse...

just basically trying to get your favorite hook consensus..

    this the hook sportfishingusa?

hows the ballyhoo action with a hook going all the way inside?

I like black hooks or non stainless. light gauge live bait gamakatsu, or just about any curved in point hook. will give a try to the owner aki hooks and the pakula dojo peche hooks this december and see how well they do

Can anyone identify this hook on the right? It is not a 7691. I like the shank size and the gap but unfortunately I do not know the reference for it

99 percent of our trips target billfish so that is what we used. If we were strictly tuna fishing I would use something else.
